This Heather is the last course we're playing on this golf getaway weekend. Our original tee time was around 3pm but a 2.5hr rain storm cancelled all tee times. At 5:30pm, myself and John from Detroit were the only ones that decided to give it one more try. With each of us having our own cart, we finished at 8:15pm before the mist turned into rain. Even with rain soften conditions, fairways rolled out nicely with greens holding all shots. This 1966 RTJ designed course can hold is own with six (6) tees 7,143yd down to 4,845yds on this 36/36 Par layout. Many tricked up dogleg yardages, that force you to work the driver Left or Right to keep in in the fairway. Fair and generous landing areas if you pick the correct tee for your driver length. We chose the Orange tees (3,050yd/3,157yd) as our 210yd drives fell into the player friendly area to make it more enjoyable. Many tree lined fairways that seemed more narrow than they looked. A lot of the greens were well protected by front sand traps or elevated that screwed with your range finder. Can't really describe any hole as standing out but the #18 straightaway 415yd par 4 that has 2nd shot to carry 180+ yards of water in front of green. Narrow grass bailout to LH side and large sand trap behind green is very inviting ....as the water isn't to forgiving. Playing tip from John on #18 was play 2 clubs more and I thanked him for that tip.....after hitting the front of the green. Playing speed golf seemed to help my score by shooting 37/39 w/31putts and John shot 39/39 w/36 putts with lots of "Great Shot" shared between us. This again is a must play if you're in the area.
