Detailed description

Three Crowns Golf Course is a public 18-hole golf course located in Casper, Wyoming.

Three Crowns Golf Course opened for play May 2005. The golf course is a 7,065 yard par 72 layout designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.

Three Crowns Golf Course is built on a former Amoco Oil Refinery site in Casper, Wyoming along the North Platte River. The golf course is built atop a remediation project that will be ongoing.

The whole site is known as the Platte River Commons which will comprise a golf course, business park, jogging trail, and parks, is about 350 acres in total.

The course has 110 acres of playable turf and about 45 acres of native areas. A-1 bentgrass is used on all of the putting surfaces. Kentucky bluegrass is the predominate type of grass used on the tees, fairways and rough. There are 61 bunkers filled with white sand imported from Idaho. There are eight bodies of water scattered throughout the golf course. Four of the lakes are for irrigation and aesthetic purposes and the other four are used in the remediation side of the project. Water will come into play on fourteen of the eighteen holes. Along with the golf course, there is a 13 acre practice facility comprising of a driving range, practice putting green and a chipping area.

The golf course will be a challenge to all levels of golfers. Wind will be the deciding factor on your round. Most of the holes play either into or against the wind which will make club selection challenging. Off the tee you will encounter generous fairways and large greens will accept most shots.
