Detailed description
Elks Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 9 hole golf course located in Elkins, West Virginia.

The Elks Country Club golf course first opened for play in 1920.

The Elks Country Club golf course sits amidst the majestic Allegheny Mountains and surrounded by the scenic Monongahela National Forest. The Elks golf course is the only golf course in beautiful Randolph County. The Club has been owned and operated by the Elks Lodge #1135 since 1920.

Although a private course, it is also open to the public, and visitors are welcome to try their skill on the links. This 9-hole course, situated on approximately 73 acres, competes admirably with the larger ones around the state. There are four sets of tees, a total yardage of jus over 6,100 yards if you play 18 holes.

The 15 sand traps appeal to any golfer. Holes 6 and 7 border the scenic Tygart River. The longer hitter will be tempted by some wide landing areas but the shotmaker will be rewarded by the well protected and often elevated greens. The course is wide open. The signature hole is #3, a 205-yard, par 3, requiring a downhill tee shot to the green.

The Elks Golf Course plays to a 9-hole par of 36 and 3,061 yards. The course rating is 34.4 and the slope rating is122. From the forward tees the course measures 2634 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 500 Yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 134 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 6, a 379 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Elks Country Club is # 8, a 134 yard par-3.

Golf cart rentals are available if you prefer not to walk. The pro shop is open daily from April 1 through October 15.
