Detailed description
The Home Course is a public 18-hole golf course located in Dupont, Washington, an hour south of Seattle and just south of Tacoma and north of Lacey, right off Interstate 5.

Designed by Mike Asmundson, the The Home Course opened in 2007. Will, that may be true for the current course, but the land has a history of golf.

The Home Course sits on land on which The Hudson Bay Company had a cabin trading post and some records suggest that traders may have laid out a crude six-hole golf course, which would have been the first in North America. In 1906 the DuPont purchased the property and built an explosives plant. The site was purchased by Weyerhauser in the 1970s, and a private golf course was built fo remployees. The Pacific Northwest Golf Association and Washington State Golf Association acquired the course in 2007 and establishing their headquarters there and opened thje course to the public..

The Home Course measures 7,437 yards from the longest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course rating is 76.5 with a slope rating of 132. The course routing is through somewhat hilly terrain with a few trees and water, and is just a quality and interesting layout, kept in wonderful condition. A must play if you're in the area to play the nearby Chambers Bay Course.
