Detailed description
Sugar Hill Golf Course is a public 18-hole course located in Houston, Texas.

Sugar Hill Golf Course first opened in 2001. The course was designed by Darryl Witt.

Built atop the site of the former Doty Landfill, which was originally covered by 4 feet of dirt and then molded with an additional 2,000,000 cubic yards of earth, Sugar Hill is a mounded, roller-coaster-like links-style track set amid the flatlands of Houston. The challenge here is dealing with the uneven lies. In fact the hills are so prominent that it's often impossible to see the adjoining holes. Water comes into play on only 4 holes, and while they've incorporated the use of bunkers, it's not as prominent a feature as you might expect for a Scottish-like track.

#2 is the number one handicap-a 406-yarder that bends right around a lake and requires a perfect tee shot to set up for the approach

Sugar Hill Golf Course measures 6,706 yards from the back tees. The course par is 72. The course rating is 70.7 with a slope rating of 110.

Sugar Hill Golf Course closed in 2009.
