Falconhead Golf Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Austin, Texas.
Falconhead Golf Club first opened for play in 2003. The golf course wasdesigned by architect Chris Gray of PGA TOUR Design Services.
Falcon Head's web site says, " Laid out by the experts from the PGA Tour Design Center, our public daily-fee course offers golfers a taste of the quality golf that pro players contend on in one of the most beautiful areas of Texas, the rolling terrain of the Central Texas Hill Country in and around Austin. ...The Tour's seal of approval means that we offer you the kind of excitement you would expect to find at a tournament-level course, combined with a chance to succeed no matter what your skill level. We have five sets of tee box to provide you with exactly the kind of round you want to play."
Falconhead plays through the rolling terrain of Texas hill country to undulating greens of moderate speed. Water comes into play on two holes and bunkering is minimal.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7,302 yards. From the foward tees the course plays to 5202 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 562 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 151 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 6, a 474 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Falconhead Golf Club is # 13, a 157 yard par-3.

It had been a while since I last played here and I had forgot how difficult it was. The elevated greens, the holes going up and down, and the challenge presented require you to pay attention or the course will eat you alive.

Surprisingly playable and exceedingly enjoyable Hill Country track. Length from the blues was unexpectedly manageable, though you will get stretched out on a couple holes. I imagine if the wind is up (which it wasn't when I played), the course has a little more bite to it. Overall though, you owe yourself an outing like Falconhead.

Had a great time from the moment I dropped off my bag. The Pro Shop and starter were very friendly and informative. We were lucky to have a local added to our group who knew the course. Beautiful layout!

Among the best courses in the area. Expensive, but worth it. Proshop staff a little stuffy at first, but helped us out of a jam with regard to our grouping. It worked out fine with their help.

Very nice golf course. Has the -West of Austin- hilly terrain and uses it to good advantage. Most in our tournament expressed interest in playing the course again. The staff was very friendly and acted like they were glad you were there.
