Detailed description

Mccabe Field Golf Course is a Public, 27 hole golf facility located in Nashville, Tennessee, in West Nashville in the Sylvan Park area.

Mccabe Field has three nine hole courses that can be played in three eighteen hole combinations. However, the Middle Course and South Course are generally combined for public play, and the North Course is generally played as a separate nine-hole course. Only when tournaments are being played will the club allow this combination to be reconfigured.

The fairways are tree lined, and the greens are large and fast. The terrain is flat and very walkable, with a creek that crosses three holes serving as the only water hazard.

Eighteen holes were built in 1942 and have large, tree-lined fairways and sand bunkers. An additional nine holes were added several years later to complete the 27-hole course.

A major renovation of the Middle and South Courses at McCabe Golf Course was completed in 2006 and includes rebuilt green complexes, a double row irrigation system and rebuilt tee complexes. Both the Middle and the South Courses reopened in May 2006. The North Course reopened in May of 2007 and incorporates a new layout and design.

The North Course at the McCabe Golf Course is the longest golf course, a par-36 that measures 3,490 yards from the Blue tees and a par-37 golf course that plays to 2,739 from the Red tees for ladies, should they choose to go that route. A round of golf kicks off on a par-4 hole that comes in at 372 yards from the Blue tee. Because this golf course is longer than the other two, there's room for a couple of par-5 holes: No. 4 measures 569 yards from the Blue tee, and the sixth hole plays to 538 yards from the Blue tee.

A round of golf on the North Course at the McCabe Golf Course concludes on a par-4 hole that measures 348 yards from the Blue tee.
