Detailed description

Shadowmoss Plantation Golf Club is a Semi-Private 18 holes golf course  located in Charleston, South Carolina.

Shadowmoss Plantation Golf Club first opened for play in 1970.The course was designed by Russell Breeden.

Breeden used the natural surroundings and a mosaic of ponds and streams to create a beautiful setting. The course offers generous fairways and Bermuda greens.

Water is hardly in play on the front nine, with the exception #5 where a narrow creek crosses the fairway short of the green. On #8, a par-5, a lagoon system parallels, crosses, then parallels again the fairway. But that all changes on the back nine, where all but #11 have water in play. At 13 and 14, any shot going left has a chance to get wet. And the par-4 finishing hole doglegs sharply around a lake.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,701 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,169 yards. The longest hole on the course is the #5, a par-5 that measures 541 yards. The shortest hole on the course is #4, a 160 yard par-3.

The #1 handicap hole on the course is #8, a 533 yard par-5. #14, a 319 yard par-4  is considered to be the easiest hole on the course.
