Detailed description

Punta Borinquen Golf Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

The course built atop a cliffside promontory in 1940 on the now-defunct Ramey U.S. Air Force Base. The course was designed by Fred Garbin. When the military base closed in 1973, Punta Borinquen became Puerto Rico's first public golf course.

The location offers one of the most spectacular sunsets and ocean views in Puerto Rico. Set atop a cliffside promontory, this par 72 course offers a sweeping view of the point where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea.

In season the golfers have the opportunity to see whales playing and jumping in the beautiful and warm Atlantic Ocean.

Punta Borinquen Golf Club's fairways are straight and open with numerous sand traps and many of a special species of palm only found in the region of the west coast of Puerto Rico. Mild westerly crosswinds provide a constant challenge. The course is mainly an open course that overlooks the ocean, with few trees and consistent wind to challenge.

Play this course and you will have played on a course played by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
