Detailed description

Rolling Rock Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. The club is primarily a hunting and fishing club that also happens to have a jewel of a golf course. Guests must be accompanied by a member in order to play this course.

Rolling Rock Club opened its first nine for play in 1917. The first nine, now the front nine was designed by Donald Ross. The course was expanded to 18 holes in May 1997 with the opening of nine new holes, the back nine. These new holes were designed by Brian Silva.

The course at Rolling Rock has no water hazards on the front nine, but plenty of sand bunkers. The greens are very undulating, and the fairways are tree lined. The front nine is a true Donald Ross design where you cannot see the bunkers until you are in them.

The back nine stair step their way up a steep hill back to the clubhouse after a huge drop on the tee shot for hole #11.  #12, a par-5, has a water hazard down the right side and fronting the green.

The course is fairly short by modern standards but does not lack for challenge due to the severity of the greens.

Blue tees: par-70,    6,181 yards, 70.2 / 128
White tees: par-70, 5,776 yards, 68.6 / 122
Green tees: par-70, 5,198 yards, 66.5 / 109(M), 71.2 / 117(W)
Red tees: par-70,    5,159 yards, 70.9 / 117
