Sparrow Lakes Golf Course, The Sparrow

Sparrow Lakes Golf Course is a 36 hole golf facility located in Welland, Ontario. The facility has two 18-hole golf course, the par-72 Heron Course and the shorter, par-67, Sparrow Course.

The Sparrow Course is the older of the two courses at the Sparrow Lakes facility. It opened for play in 1993.

The Sparrow Course features short yardage and level terrain, which makes it very easy to walk.  The farmland terrain is highlighted by generous fairways and well-mounded rough.  Ponds and plenty of trees surround the undulating greens and add a comfortable challenge.

The course is considered a hybrid or "Championship Executive Course". At a par of 67 and measuring 4909 yards from the back tees, it is too short to be considered a traditional "Championship Course".  At the same time with a par 5 on each nine and a number of par 4's (some that are reachable for the longer hitter), it is to long to be considered an "Executive Course".
