Thundercreek Municipal Golf Course opened in 1994, The course was designed by B.S. Jernigan and Jerry Turner.

Thundercreek Golf Course is scenic course with narrow, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens that are medium in size and speed. The terrain varies in undulation from rolling to hilly, so expect many uneven lies. Water hazards (mainly creeks) come into play on eleven holes. The signature hole is #17, a 485-yard, par 5, with the green located 50' above the fairway that requires the golfer to hit several times over Thundercreek on their way to the green.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,835 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,988 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 560 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 140 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 6, a 557 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 11, the 140 yard par-3.
