Detailed description

Kings Mill Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Waldo, Ohio. Originally settled by Titus King in 1830, King constructed a mill in near Waldo. 130 years later, John and Jean Russell purchased the land to be used as a golf course, they name the property Kings Mill Golf Club.

The front nine was built in 1965 and opened on Memorial Day 1966. The front nine was designed by Jack Kidwell. The back nine opened in 1973, The back nine holes were designed by John Russell and Ted Cox.

Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,156 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,373 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 2, a par-5 that plays to 517 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 137 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 9, a 409-yard par-4 challenge, and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 8, a 137 yard par-3.

The course is nestled along the Olentangy River. The terrain ranges from hilly to flat and rolling. The front nine is more open than the back nine and has several sand bunkers in the design. The back nine is tighter with a lot of trees and water, but no bunkers. Water hazards (ponds and a creek) come into play on at least six holes in all. Shot accuracy is essential because many holes are bordered by out-of-bounds stakes.
