Detailed description
Ivy Hills Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Newtown, Ohio.

Ivy Hills Country Club first opened for play in 1992. The course was designed by Steve Smyers

Ivy Hills Country Club is a stunning transformation of a former gravel quarry into an americanized links style layout. The risk / reward challenge is carefully sculpted into each piece of this 18-hole golf course, allowing the casual player a rich and rewarding experience while challenging the finer player with the opportunity to measure their game against a backdrop of heroic shot making.

From the Championship tees at 6764 yards, the par 71 course can and will play much longer than the scorecard depicts. At the same time three other sets of tees and generous landing areas allow every skill level of golfer to enjoy the challenge. In the final analysis, the length of the course is not the major factor in the level of complexity at Ivy Hills. The true challenge is in the abundance of elevation changes throughout the property, the variety of shot values into the green complexes, bunkering, large undulating greens, and the gusty westerly winds. Oh, and there is the native heather grasses…did we mention the heather?

Holes 10 through 13 make up what has become known as “Amen Corner” at Ivy Hills. If a player can successfully navigate this series of holes there are plenty of other opportunities to score. As a result, Ivy Hills is a thinking man's course. A player at the top of their game would be offered strategic and at times heroic options on every hole.

Unique to Ivy Hills is a Border Collie named "Ivy". Ivy earns her keep helping in the elimination or minimization of geese on the golf course.
