About Bluffton Golf Club

Bluffton Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Bluffton, Ohio, and only 20 minutes from either Findlay or Lima, just off I-75 or Route 30.

Bluffton Golf Club opened in 1937. The course was designed by Ken Mast.

Bluffton is a mature golf course and is one of the best maintained courses in the area. Tees, fairways, and greens are watered and many mature trees line the winding Little Riley Creek which comes into play on 13 of the holes. Each hole is protected by at least one bunker. Bluffton has been family owned and operated since 1989 by PGA Professional Floyd Young and family.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,633 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,722 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 528 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 149 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 12, a 470 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Bluffton Golf Club is # 9, a 179 yard par-3.

Driving back home from Lima, OH and saw this course just 5 minutes off I-75 and decided to give a try. What a beautiful straight forward 6,668yd / 71.5 / 122 Par 72 links layout. Scattered hardwood trees line the slightly rolling well maintained fairways, with the rough mowed to 2.5-3" tall throughout the course. Now to the greens, WOW were they fast, hard, true and smooth and not a flat putt to be found. Needed to bring approach shots in from upstairs and 3-5yds short of target and the front pins played very tough. Aprons mowed to 5-6' out that were smooth/short enough to putt from as most greens fell off to feed them as they were rolling at a 9-10. Enjoyed my 2.5hr loop for the $25 18/cart Senior price on this windy (15-20mph) sunny afternoon shooting 39/42 w/35putts. Leagues were filling up the course when I finished and I could see why, conditions will bring people in. This is a must stop if traveling through this area in the afternoon looking for conditions and fair pricing on an enjoyable Links layout.

There are better courses in the area. Yes, the price is low, but the Bluffton Golf Club course is marginal at best.

No drinking water on course, marginal maintenance on traps. Bring extra balls the roughs are deep. The play is slow probably due to everyone trying to find their ball with no ranger any where. The cart was filthy.

Never again.
