Detailed description

Richmond Pines Country Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Rockingham, North Carolina.

Richmond Pines Country Club first opened for play in 1929. The course was designed by Donald J. Ross.

There is enough variety of terrain to challenge the most advanced golfer. There are four water hazards that come into play on some holes.

Blue tees: par-72, 6,267 yards, 70.5 / 124

White tees: par-72, 5,833 yards, 69.0 / 120

Red tees: par-72, 5,051 yards, 68.9 / 119

Richmond Pines Country Club CLOSED in 2011.

The course was closed for two years before reopening.

The reopening lasted about 14 months.

The course again closed, this time in September 2014.

The course went into foreclosure in the fall of 2011 and was purchased by Craig McNeill of McNeill & Associates Realty Company in January 2012.

Since April of 2013,  Anna and Burl Rose have been leasing the property.

Anna Rose said the monthly expenses for running the course were roughly $30,000. That figure included rent, utilities, insurance, lease payments on the golf carts and maintenance vehicles as well as salaries.

“It has nothing to do with Craig,” she said about the decision to close. “An average of 23 (golfers) a day just won’t sustain the course as a business."
