Detailed description

Springdale Country Club is a Resort 18 hole golf course located in Canton, North Carolina.

Springdale Country Club first opened for play in 1968. The course was designed by Joseph Holmes.

Springdale Country Club's course leads players on a breathtaking tour of true mountain golf with the Great Smokies serving as a backdrop. This championship course has wide fairways and greens. The mountainous front nine provides a sporting challenge for all skill levels. A memorable hole is #4, the "Springdale Spasm," a 429-yard, par 4, which is an uphill, dogleg right with a mountain stream bordering the right side and crossing the fairway at the 150-yard marker. Golfers then play their second shot to an elevated green protected by bunkers on either side. From the front nine with elevation changes the back nine shifts to a "links" style format. The back nine runs through the valley with the final three holes returning to the mountains to provide an interesting finish filled with style, challenge and beauty. The course is accented with mountain streams and ponds that come into play on nine holes. Springdale is both a fair and challenging course.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6812 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5421 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 547 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 172 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 4, a 429 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Springdale Country Club is # 12, a 172 yard par-3.
