Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Sodus Point, New York.
Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club first opened for play in 1924 with 9-holes. Robert Trent Jones Sr. was the first golf professional at Sodus Bay Heights. Jones redesigned several of the existing holes. Two of his greens have been retained by the club, they are the oldest examples of his work. The course as we know it today is a Geoffrey Cornish design. Cornish redesigned the existing nine and added 9 new holes, expanding the course to 18 holes in 1966.
The Sodus Bay Golf Course sits on hilly, uneven terrain. Many of the fairways are undulating. Water hazards that come into play on four holes. Winds which routinely blow in from Great Sodus Bay and Lake Ontario, can affect play dramatically. Sodus Bay Heights plays from 5,529 to 6,682-yards. There are three sets of tees to accommodate different skill levels.

The greens were recently aerated, so the price was discounted. Very nice course, scenic since it is right on the bay. A marshall would have been nice as there was a male/female twosome (probably members) in a blue golf cart that were holding up 4-5 groups behind them, us being right behind them. They would speed off the tee so you can't catch them, but were snails the rest of the way. I have no doubt they scored well over 110 each, but examined their putts from every angle. The lady even did the "Camillo Villegas" once. I'm sorry if this isn't enough about the course, but this was one of the best scoring/most unenjoyable rounds of my life because of them.
