Detailed description
Monroe Golf Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Pittsford, New York.

The Monroe Golf Club golf course first opened for play in 1924. The course was designed by Donald Ross. Monroe Golf Club represents a page right from the golden age of golf architecture. Virtually unchanged from the original design of Mr. Ross, the course has matured with majestic tree-lined fairways framing exceptionally fast and small greens that reward good iron play, and forbidding hazards that make recovery shots difficult.

Brian Silva, golf gourse architect and past President of The American Golf Course Architects Association said of the course, 'This is surely one of the greatest Ross courses I have ever seen. I am aware of other Ross courses of greater renown than Monroe yet only know of one that is its match — and Pinehurst No 2 had the distinct advantage of being the winter home of Ross for four decades.”

This course was cut out of an apple orchard. Other trees, such as pine, oak, and maple can also alter your shots. The fairways are typically wide open, and the terrain is rolling. There are sand bunkers throughout the entire course, but no water hazards. This club only allows guests to play the course when accompanied by a member.

The Monroe Golf Club golf course plays to a par-72 and a maximum distance of 6,787 yards. The course rating is 72.3 and the slope rating is122.
