The course plays to a maximum 9-hole distance of 3,105 yards for a par of 36. The course rating is 69.3 with a slope rating of 122.
This course has several long par 4's, including a 440-yarder on the last hole. In addition, there are ponds that come into play on two holes. Even though the course is predominantly flat, there are some hilly areas on the course which will cause uneven lies. In spite of the fact that this area was originally farmland, the club has planted plenty of dogwood, oak, maple, fir, and pine trees alongside their wide-open fairways. The course offers beautiful views of the Hudson Valley and is especially rewarding to the eye during the fall color changes. There is an additional set of tees that can be used when playing a double loop eighteen hole round.
Holes are quite challenging and interesting. Dogwood Knolls Golf Course and McShane's Pub is open all year around
