Detailed description
Northern Pines Golf Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Cicero, New York.

Northern Pines Golf Club first opened for play in 1972. The course was designed by George Swatt. In 1999, Fayetteville, New York golf course architect Barry Jordan turned Northern Pines into an 18-hole golf course. Jordan added a new nine, and completely redesigned the existing nine in the links-style. Water comes into play on 5 holes. You might want to stay below the hole on holes 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16 & 17 as they are the original George Swatt holes and the greens can be described as SLICK!

The front nine, as well as two of the back nine holes, numbers 15 and 18, were built by Barry Jordan. The new holes feature a traditional Scottish links style, with large rolling hills and mostly open terrain. The eleven new holes have large undulating greens and multiple teeing areas. Four large ponds, which come into play on seven of the eleven new holes, as well as thirty-four sand traps were also built to add to the challenge.

A key characteristic of the old holes is the very challenging small greens that tend to fall away around the edges, creating very small targets for approach shots. Three small ponds, coming into play on two of the seven old holes, add to the challenge. Although the old course holes don't have the length and extensive bunkering of the new holes, the large trees, well-placed water hazards, and difficult greens challenge golfers of all skill levels.

Northern Pines Golf Club plays to 6,605 yards from the back tees and plays to a par of 71.
