Villa Roma Resort Golf Course, is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Callicoon, New York.
The course first opened for play in 1987. The course was designed by Lindsay Ervin & David Postlethwait.
This resort course is nestled in the Catskill Mountains and is surrounded by scenic scenery. The fairways are generous though approach shots require accuracy. The front 9 is very generous off the tee but the greens must be read properly with its undulations. The back nine is longer and more challenging, but rewards solidly struck shots.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,534 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,797 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 11, a par-5 that plays to 545 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 7, a par-3 that plays to 171 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 533-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Villa Roma Golf Course is # 13, a 174 yard par-3.

I have a timeshare in Fla. and I trade it to go here when I want to get away for a week of golf without the airfare. Tough to get a room during the summer but end of May or beginning of June usually has availabilities. The weather is fairly warm around this time. Can't beat the course at Villa Roma and there are a few other nice courses in the area. I played 10 rounds in 7 days last year (2007). Will be doing it again this year.
