Detailed description

Sunningdale Golf Club is a Semi-Private, 9 hole golf course located in Somersworth, New Hampshire.

Sunningdale Golf Club first opened for play in 1962. The course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish.

The course sits on rolling / sloping hills, so be prepared for some uneven lies. The fast greens are severely sloped. There is an additional set of men's tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round.

If playing a double loop 18-hole round, par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,010 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,470 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 2, a par-5 that plays to 530 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 215 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 7, a 460-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 12, a 370 yard par-4.

The course closed in 2013. The land has been repurposed for housing. The new development is named Villages at Sunningdale.
