Detailed description

Exeter Country Club is a Semi-Private 9 hole golf course located in Exeter, New Hampshire.

Exeter's golf course opened in 1889, making it one of the oldest in America. Golf Magazine placed Exeter's challenging nine-hole layout among the 100 oldest courses nationally, but other documents indicate Exeter may claim to be among the 25 oldest clubs in the country. The course was redesigned in the 1950's by Manny Francis.

The tree-lined fairways are wide and rolling. The small greens average 3,500 square feet and are undulating and fast. The layout places a premium on shot accuracy. Water comes into play on three holes.

Par for the course is 35. From the back tees, the course plays to 2,721 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 2,553 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 460 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 160 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 5, a 365-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 2, a 160 yard par-3.
