Detailed description

Blue Hills Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Kansas City, Missouri. You must be a guest of a member to play this course.

Blue Hills Country Club was established in 1912 in an area bounded by the Paseo, Th Street, Brooklyn and RD Streets in Kansas City, Missouri. The Club received it's name from the fields that were covered in beautiful blue grass. In 1963, the Club moved to it's current location. The golf course was designed by Bob Dunning.

Blue Hills is best known in the Kansas City area for hosting Tom Watson's annual fundraiser for Children's Mercy Hospital. Over a 25-year span that ended in 2004, Watson brought some of the game's greatest players to the exhibition -- Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Fred Couples among them. The course is also known for its length, large trees and several water hazards. The signature hole is No. 5, a 185-yard par 3 that requires a tee shot over water to a sloped green.

The golf course, is kept in tournament ready condition and is consistently rated among the top courses in the Midwest. It's 7,250 yard layout has hosted many state, USGA, and U.S. Open local and sectional qualifiers. The greens are bent grass and the fairways are zoysia grass. There are approximately 57 bunkers strategically placed around the course and water hazards are in play.
