Detailed description

Hunters Ridge Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Howell, Michigan.

The course first opened for play in 1995. The course was designed by Jerry Matthews.

Built on 160 acres with thirty acres of natural wetlands, Hunters Ridge Golf Course is situated on part of the Miesle family's farm just north of Howell, Michigan. The course itself was carefully designed by master golf course architect Jerry Matthews who's work also includes "The Grand" and "Woods" courses for the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, "The Fortress" in Frankenmuth, and "The Torch" for A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort.

It is a links-style course with 68 bunkers and 6 ponds. The turf is bent grass on the tees, fairways, and greens, with bluegrass rough, surrounded by knee-deep heather and wetland areas. The greens are medium-fast.

Hunters Ridge is also a very "fair" course with no hidden landing areas and four different sets of tees at each hole – allowing each player to tailor the course to their own skill level ensuring loads of fun and good times for beginners and serious golfers alike.

Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,532 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,624 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 556 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 7, a par-3 that plays to 168 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 4, a 384-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Hunters Ridge Golf Course is # 14, a 403 yard par-4.
