Detailed description

Yarrow Golf and Conference Center is a public resort golf course located in Augusta, Michigan.

Yarrow opened in 1992. The course was designed by ray Hearn.

The course is set across a beautiful landscape spotted with groves of Scotch pines and hardwoods as well as patches of native bush and grasses. The links-style golf course plays to just over 7,000 yards from the back tees. It's a challenging layout that will please low handicappers but four sets of tees let you play to your abilities.

Though the generous fairways offer ample room, you'll have to be careful because they're also severely undulating and the same goes for the greens, which are flanked by strategically placed bunkers and tall grasses.

The golf course begins with a tough but interesting par 5. The fairway slopes dramatically from left to right and you'll be lucky to score par on this tough hole but don't worry, it's the most extreme fairway slope that you'll encounter at Yarrow.

Black tees: par-72, 7,005 yards, 73.4 / 133
Evergreen tees: par-72, 6,588 yards, 70.2 / 124
Knotty Pine tees: par-72, 6,189 yards, 68.4 / 119
Red Maple tees: par-72, 5,829 yards, 72.7 / 123
Yellow Birch tees: par-72, 5,005 yards, 67.8 / 114

The course closed in late 2015.

Nashville, Tennessee-based Foundation Recovery Network bought the 300-acre property and opened Skywood Recovery, a mental health and substance abuse rehabilitation center.

They the driving range and the 18th green and bought new range balls to give patients a "therapeutic experience."

The treatment facility also partnered with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Fish and Wildlife Services to restore 80 acres back to native vegetation.
