Detailed description

Tomac Woods Golf Course is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Albion, Michigan.

The course first opened for play in 1964. Beginning in 1967, carving fairways across Rice Creek and through the woods, the back 9 opened in the summer of 1968. The course was designed by Robert Beard.

This scenic course has historical points of interest. Stone fence rows, built when farmers cleared the fields in the mid-19th century, divide and outline the course.

The front nine is more open with undulating greens that will require a little extra line evaluation. Woods, a meandering creek, and scenic wetlands present an occasional challenge as you play your way through the back nine. The back nine is cut through a wooded area and features a flowing creek that comes into play on several holes

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,382 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures, 559 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 585 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 13, a par-3 that plays to 108 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 3, a 418-yard par-4 challenge, and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 13, a 108 yard par-3.

The course closed in September 2021. The property will be repurposed as a solar farm.
