Detailed description

Foxborough Country Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Foxborough, Massachusetts

Foxborough Golf Course opened for play in 1957. The course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish. Cornish designed the course early in his career and later, even after designing hundreds of courses across the country, he would return several times to check on the course as it matured. His guiding philosophy is visible not only in the original design but also in changes made over the lifetime of the course.

The course is best known for its well-manicured greens.  The greens are large, fast, and undulating, so three putting is a fairly common occurrence.  In addition, accurate shot making is a must since the fairways are tree lined and protected by numerous sand bunkers.  The overall terrain is predominantly flat, but there are a few mounds that can cause uneven lies.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,849 yards. From the forward tees, the course plays to a par-73 and measures 5,627 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 11, a par-5 that plays to 565 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 17, a par-3 that plays to 165 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 8, a 452-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Foxborough Golf Course is # 17, the 165 yard par-3.
