Hollow Creek Golf Club opened in 2002. The course was designed by Rick Jacobson.
With amazing views of the Catoctin Mountain Range, this Rick Jacobson design cascades over the rolling countryside making it both aesthetic and enjoyable for players of all abilities. With distances ranging from 5,080 to 6,610 yards and a choice of four sets of tees, this layout requires precise shotmaking, yet yields playability to golfers of all levels.
The generous fairways are a mixture of open and tree lined, and the greens are large and challenging to putt. Water comes into play on several holes in the form of ponds and creeks.

Our group of travelling seniors played here 7-9-13 for the first time in a year or so. Conditions today were a bit soggy after two days of rainy weather. Bugs were VERY plentiful, especially in closely mown areas. Conditions were generally good, with the exception of the bunkers, about half of which were flooded or solid with moisture, and the other half very fluffy: not sure how that happens. Several of our group made note of the numerous unrepaired ball marks on the greens. Similarly, fairways had many unrepaired/unfilled divots: perhaps some golfers aare not aware that there is divot-mix on the carts. The course requires utmost concentration, as there are houses in every line of sight on almost every hole. Some fairways give the illusion of there being no landing area at all because of encroaching homes, and some home rear decks seem to overhang the cart path (the last par 3, #16, is notable for this)! This would be a great course if it were bult on about 50 more acres: as it is, it seems tighter than it really is, and thus, intimidates. If you can stay focused on the hole, you'll like this course: if houses bother you, stay away! Pro shop staff was very cordial, and the starter very helpful. Could not help notice a previous rater's comment about the bar facilities: we found it to be quite expensive, and consequently, took our busines to the pizza place in the strip mall across the street: much more reasonably priced for our beer and fries. Overall, we give Hollow Creek a "Thimbs-up" and suggest you give it a try.

New Years Day golf in Maryland is a bonus. Considering it was winter the golf course was in good shape.
