Detailed description

Braeburn Golf Club At WSU is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Wichita, Kansas.

Braeburn Golf Club At Wichita State University began as the Crestview Country Club in the 1920's. In the 1960's, Crestview decided to move to east Wichita and construct a new facility. In 1968, WSU obtained Crestview which was adjacent to the campus and found itself operating a golf course. The clubhouse was opened as a private club, known first as "The Shocker Club" and then as "The University Club".

In 1994, the management of the WSU course adopted the name "Braeburn".

Braeburn is open to the public at public course prices, The course is located at 21st and Oliver on Wichita State University's scenic campus. The course provides an 18-hole championship layout that is challenging enough for advanced players, yet beginner-friendly for less experienced golfers and families.

The course is an NGCOA recognized beginner friendly facility and features one of the best practice facilities in Wichita. Our driving range, short range, and putting greens give golfers of all skill levels a chance to improve their game.

The Back Tees play to a par of 70.0, a distance of 6,427 yards, rating 70.6, and a slope of 116. The Forward Tee play to a par of 70.0, a distance of 4,972 yards, rating 68.7 and a slope of 116.

The course closed on November 3, 2014.

WSU will use the closed course for its Innovation Campus. As many as 20 new buildings are planned to be constructed on land that was once occupied by the golf course.
