Prince Course at Princeville Resort, is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Kauai, Hawaii.
Prince Course at Princeville Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1991. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
The 7,378-yard, par-72 course has elevated tees, ravines and aggressive natural vegetation. With its stunning vistas and variety of holes, it's been ranked among America's top 100 public courses.
The course has a reputation for being difficult. As an example, #1 is a short par 4 with a small landing area in front of a large ravine that sets up a very difficult approach. The course closed in 2015, with some talk that it might become private, although more recently there has been talk that it will remain a resort course available for public play, which appears most likely.
Renovation work, which will be overseen by Jones, is planned to begin starting in the first quarter of 2016.
