Detailed description

Milledgeville Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Milledgeville, Georgia.

In 1959, at a cost of $21,918.38, a 134 acre tract of land that would become Milledgeville Country Club was purchased. Construction on the first 9 holes of the golf course and the clubhouse began in July of 1959, and the course hosted it's first round of golf on September 10, 1960. The clubhouse officially opened the following December. The course was designed by George W. Cobb.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,277 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,875 yards. The longest hole on the course is #9, a par-5 that plays to 530 yards. The shortest hole on the course is #5, a par-3 that plays to 172 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 7, a 417 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 16, a 303 yard par-4.

This course is private and guests must be accompanied by a member. The course is right next to Lake Sinclair, and one hole requires a shot across the lake to the green. The front nine is open and the back nine has tree-lined fairways. The greens are fast, and the fairways are rolling.
