Detailed description

Highland Golf Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Conyers, Georgia.

Highland Golf Club first opened for play in 1961 and was renovated in 1986. The course was designed by Neil Edwards.

The concept behind the design was to take advantage of the large Loblolly and White Pine trees and the rolling terrain of Georgia. The landscape is peppered with a variety of colors -- pear trees, Crepe Myrtles, and azaleas in bloom. Highland has five lakes that come into play on seven different holes! Highland Golf Club plays to 6,817 yards with a course rating of 72.7 and a slope rating of 128 from the back tees. Par for Highland Golf Club is 72..

Hole #1 is a par 4 that plays plays straight away. Keep your tee shot between the bunkers that frame the fairway. Wide shallow green bunkered on the left, right and behind.

Hole #2 is is a par 4. Hole #2 is a dog leg left. The green has two distinct levels for the front and back.

Hole #3 is the third par 4 in a row. This hole dog legs to the right. Like #1, play your tee shot between the bunkers that frame the fairway. The green is uphill and sits at an angle to the fairway. The right side of the green is deeper than the left side. The green is bunkered left and behind.

Hole #4 is a par 3. This hole plays downhill. The green is bunkered left and behind -- and there is a water hazard just beyond the back bunker.

Hole #5 is a par 5. The tee shot must carry a small pond to get to a generous landing area framed on both sides by bunkers. The second shot is uphill to a flat landing area. The third shot is down hill to a wide shallow green bunkered in the back.

Hole #6 is a par 3. This hole plays up hill to a wide green, bunkered left, right and behind.

Hole #7 plays to a par of 4. A slight dog leg left -- the tee shot is up hill to a generous fairway. A good tee shot usually leaves you a medium-to-long iron down hill to a small green, bunkered in the rear.

Hole #8 is another long par 400+ yards par 4. Requires a good tee shot to be in position to hit a medium-to-long iron to an elevated green. The green is bunkered left and right.

Hole #9 is a dog leg right par 5.

Hole #10 is a par 3 hole that plays up slight hill to a long narrow green that has three levels. Out-of-bounds left and behind the green. Take one more club than usual for the distance played.

Hole #11 is a straight away par 4 has the biggest green on the course.

Hole #12 is a straight away par 5. The tee shot is to a generous fairway, bunkered left and right. The second shot is a lay up to the left side of the fairway to avoid the pond right. The third shot is over the pond to a large green, bunkered left and right. The back left side of the green has a shelf higher than the rest of the green.

Hole #13 is a straight away par 4 to a small green with two levels and bunkered left and right. Avoid the big pine in the left center of the fairway.

Hole #14 plays to a par 4. The hole has a narrow fairway that is bunkered left and right near the landing area. The second shot is down hill to a medium sized green, bunkered left, right and behind.

Hole #15 is the signature hole for Highlands Golf Course. The tee shot is from an elevated tee across a pond. The wide shallow green is bunkered left, right and behind.

Hole #16 is a medium length par 4 and has the only green on the course that is fronted by a bunker.

Hole #17 is another straight away par 5.

Hole #18 is a par 4. The hole has bunkers on the left and right of the fairway. The green is bunkered right and behind and slopes from back left to front right.
