About Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort, Woodlands Course

Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is a Resort, 63 hole golf facility located in Braselton, Georgia. Chateau Elan Golf Club three eighteen hole courses and one 9-hole, par 3 course. The courses are The Legends Course, The Chateau Elan Course, The Woodlands Course and Par-3 Course.

The Woodlands first opened for play in 1996. The course was designed by Denis Griffiths.

The Woodlands course at the Chateau Elan Golf Club is extremely tight, so keep your tee shot straight or you'll definitely be hitting out of the woods. The greens have subtle breaks similar to the other courses at the resort, but they are slightly larger.

The Woodlands course at the Chateau Elan Golf Club plays to a par-72 and a maximum distance of 6,738 yards. The course rating is 72.5 with a 131 slope rating. Designed by Denis Griffiths, ASGCA, the Woodlands golf course opened in 1996.

The Chateau Elan Course has three lakes and two creeks winding their way through its design. These water hazards come into play on ten of the eighteen holes. This course is open to the public.

The Legends Course at Chateau Elan is a private course which is only for the use of members, guests of members, and hotel guests. The fairways vary in width, and the well-manicured greens are fast. Water hazards come into play on several holes. The Legends is also the home of the annual Sarazen World Open Championship, a PGA Tour co-sponsored and PGA European Tour sanctioned tournament.

The nine hole, walking only, Par 3 Course is short but challenging. Use of the driving range is included with the green fees.

Really expected more from this course. It was fun to play but nothing great. The greens were the most disappointing. They were not very fast and in poor shape. I am used to the greens in the Atlanta area being very fast and well maintained. However the bunkers were in excellent shape. Great sand. Being in the Atlanta area, a cart is necessary. The course is totally built on hills. Range balls were part of the green fee. That was unique. We ate the Mothers day buffet after and it was fantastic.

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

It was my birthday so not much could go wrong. With a Golfnow T time and a beautiful day it was worth endurng aerated greens (they were in fairly good condition). It was quiet, with a nice pace and I played with two other singles who enjoyed themselves as well.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area

We were first morning tee off and what a nice treat to see traps freshly raked and no waiting for grass crews to complete mowing tasks.

Chateau Elan is not an easy course, and all phases of your game will have been tested by the end of your round. The course was in excellant condition and staff always makes it a delight to have selected their site.
