Detailed description

Falcon Watch Golf Club, previously named Cypress Green Golf Course, is a Private, 27 hole golf facility located in Sun City Center, Florida. This club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. These nines are The Challenge Course, The Sand Course, and The Cypress Course.

Cypress Green Golf Course first opened for play in 1985. The course was designed by Ron Garl.

The Challenge Course is the most demanding of the three because of the water hazards and gullies that come into play.

The Sand Course is the easiest since there are not many hazards.

The Cypress Course has water coming into play on nearly every hole.

All three courses have fairways that are wide open and greens that are large and undulating. The terrain is flat, but carts are mandatory.

All three nines, Sands, Cypress, and Challenge are par 36, with four sets of tee decks ranging from 2,385 to 3,280 yards. Challenge is the newest of the three nines and considered the toughest. It’s certainly set apart from the other layouts with a woodland feel and tree-lined fairways and several forced carries over ravines.

It’s a toss-up between two outstanding par-4s for the toughest hole at Falcon Watch —either #3 on Sands or #4 on Challenge. The tee shot on the 395-yard third hole on Sands is crucial as the dogleg right requires an exact shot over trees on the right side and the water on both sides of the fairways and there’s a small elevated green with a large bunker to the right. #9 on Challenge is the longest par-4 at Falcon Watch, topping out at 400 yards. It’s not only the length but water down the entire right side of the hole that can wreak havoc on this finishing hole. The green is also protected by water on the right and a bunker on the left. Look out for #5 on Cypress, probably the best par-3 at the Club, featuring an “island green” surrounded by water on the right and bunkers left and back.
