The Bay Dunes golf course first opened for play in 1991. The course was designed by Jack Cunningham.
The property sits on the former Majette Landfill that was covered and closed prior to course construction.
At over 6600 yards from the back tees, the golf course presents an enjoyable challenge, while four sets of tees ensure a fun round for golfers of every skill level.
Gold tees; 6,659 yards, course rating 72.2, slope rating 123.
Blue tees: 6,230 yards, course rating 70.0, slope rating 121.
White tees: 5,825 yards, course rating 68.6, slope rating 115.
White tees(W): 5,825 yards, course rating 74.5, slope rating 122.
Red tees: 5,455 yards, course rating 72.5, slope rating 119.
The course closed in 2016.
The course had been slowly sinking in certain areas since opening almost 30 years ago.%u200B %u200BTo be playable, fill and other repairs costing $500,000 or more need to be completed. %u200B%u200BAreas, where there were undulations, were not threatening to golfers but tended to flood because the clay cap underneath prevented the water from draining. Additionally, cart paths cracked and needed replacement.%u200B
