Detailed description

Waldorf Astoria Golf Club is a resort/public 18 hole golf course located in Orlando, Florida.

The Waldorf Astoria Golf Club Golf Course first opened for play in late 2009. The course was designed by Rees Jones.

The Waldorf Astoria Golf Club is not a Disney property, but it is surrounded on three sides by the Disney Resort. The course will serve guests of two new hotels, the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. The course is located where the former Eagle Pines golf course had been situated (Pete Dye-designed Eagle Pines course closed in the summer of 2007).

The Waldorf Astoria Golf Club course plays to a maximum distance of 7113 yards with a Par 72, Slope 130, and 72.5 from the tips. There are also four other sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

The course is a classic Florida parkland style of layout with cypress, pine, and palm tree-lined fairways, water on all but three holes, and well bunkered. The greens are small and elevated greens, undulating, and well guarded by wetlands, water, or bunkers. The holes are visually arresting from tee to green and require intelligent management of the game. Bunkers are carved to be reminiscent of the hazards designed on courses a century ago. Majestic stands of pine and cypress trees line the fairways. Overall, the course is very well landscaped with first-class facilities, conditions, service, and with no houses or development on the course.
