Hidden Lakes Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Hidden Lakes Golf Course first opened for play in 1978. The course was designed by Bill Amick. The course was remodeled by Lloyd Clifton in 1995.
Hidden Lakes is a very tight course where shot accuracy is a must. The fairways are bordered with rough and trees. Water hazards and sand bunkers are incorporated throughout the course design. Many of the large tee boxes and medium-sized greens are elevated. The overall design of the greens is relatively flat and their speed varies from medium to fast.
Par for the course is 69. From the back tees, the course plays to 5,454 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,560 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 479 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 135 yards from the back tees.
The signature hole is #4, a 350-yard, par 4, requiring a lay-up tee shot, then an approach shot over water to a well-bunkered green.
#10 is a short 285-yard par-4. Water runs along the right side. The hole is open to left, providing ample bailout room. Go for it, but stay left.
Watch out for # 12, a 400-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Hidden Lakes Golf Course is # 2, the 135 yard par-3.
Hole #13, a 205-yard, par 3, is considered to be one of the best par 3's in Florida.
#17, is another short par 4 measuring just 270 yards from the tips. The hole is straight and the narrow fairway is tree-lined from tee to green. If you don't hit it straight, you'll be chipping out of the trees. Unless you are a long ball hitter you will be chipping to the green. Why not just play it safe. Use a safe club, perhaps your 5 wood or 7 iron and safely lay up. The use a wedge or 9-iron to the green. Putt for birdie, but be satisfied with a par.
