Detailed description

Doral Golf Resort & Spa - Great White, is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Miami, Florida.

The course first opened for play in 2000. The course was designed by Greg Norman.

The desert-style layout blends strategically demanding fairways, tightly packed coquina sand, thousands of palm trees and 222 Scottish-style pot bunkers. Water is a factor on 14 of its 18 holes.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,171 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,026 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 602 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 168 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 5, a 572-yard-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Great White Golf Course is # 10, a 402 yard par-4.

The Great White was the second-best course at Doral behind the Blue Monster, but its isolated location doomed the design. When Donald Trump bought Doral in 2012, he spent money improving the resort's four other courses, while setting aside the Great White to make way for more real estate. The course closed in January 2016.
