Detailed description

Inverness Golf & Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Inverness, Florida. Although Inverness Golf and Country Club is a private golf course, it does allow public play with a scheduled tee time.

Inverness Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1962. The course was designed by Bill Campbell.

Like many Florida courses. Inverness Golf Course sits on fairly level terrain. The course is nestled in a setting of large oak trees, pines, palms and a few cedars that can get hookers and slicers into trouble. Water hazards come into play only on two holes on the front side, #8 and#9, and two on the back, #14 and #15, although errant shots can find lateral hazards on several other holes.

The signature hole on this course is #14, a 135-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to an undulating green that is protected by sand bunkers and a retaining wall.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees. the course plays to 6,402 yards. From the forward tees. the course measures 5,354 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 565 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 14, the par-3 that plays to 135 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 1, a 411-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Invernes Golf Course is # 14, the signature 145 yard par-3.
