Southern Woods Golf Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Homosassa, Florida
The Southern Woods Golf Club golf course opened for play in 1992. The course was designed by Hale Irwin & Dick Phelps.
Full advantage was taken of the rolling terrain and the lush forest areas. Scenic, tight, often difficult, the Southern Woods golf course requires accuracy from the tees and fairways as most greens are well guarded by deep bunkers with water on No. 7 and the round breaking trio Nos. 15, 16, and 17. The large greens are somewhat sloped and fast. Some of them are multi-tiered, and there is also a slight degree of elevation to the tee boxes and greens. Before each stroke, strategy must be considered.
#7, a 521-yard, par 5, is the signature hole. #7 has a waterfall cascading just to the left of the green and a pond that comes into play behind the green.
The Southern Woods Golf Club golf course plays to a par72 and a maximum distance of 6,919 yards. The course rating from the back tees is 72.9 with a slope rating of 126.
Blue tees: par-72, 6,919 yards, 72.9 / 126.
White tees: par-72, 6,427 yards.
Gold tees: par-72, 5,797 yards.
Red tees: par-72, 5,797 yards.
