Detailed description

Fernandina Beach Golf Club is a Public, 27 hole golf facility facility located in the second oldest city in the United States, Fernandina Beach, Florida. Fernandina Beach Golf Club has three 9-hole golf courses. These courses can be combined in pairs to form three different 18 hole course challenges. The nine-hole courses are The North Course, The South Course, and The West Course.

With 27 distinctive holes consisting of the North, West and South nine-hole layouts of varied difficulty and design and proximity to Jacksonville and the beach, makes Fernandina Beach Golf Club one of the most popular municipal golf facilities in the country.

At par-35 and 3,094 yards, the North nine is the oldest course on Amelia Island, opening in 1956. The North Course was designed by Ed Madison.

The championship-length West course's No. 2 hole is its signature, a par-5 monster measuring 607 yards from the tips. Also designed by Ed Madison, the West golf course opened in 1959.

The South nine was the last of the nines to open, and did so in 1972 . The South Nine is considered the most scenic of the three nines as well as tightest, described as a "shot makers" course. Designed by Tommy Birdsong, the South golf course opened in 1972.

The West/South combination is the tournament course at Fernandina Beach Golf Club. The West nine is long and there is a challenging par-5 that is one of the most difficult on the golf course. The South nine features an abundance of trees and water hazards, putting a heavier emphasis on accuracy rather than distance in scoring well. The golf course is also considered a perfect example of scenic Florida golf with native foliage and wildlife throughout.

With generous fairways and native foliage outlining each hole, all three nines provide relaxing and enjoyable environments. Each course measures well over 3000 yards from the championship tees and presents a one-of-a-kind challenge.
