Candlewood Valley Country Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in New Milford, Connecticut.
Candlewood Valley golf course first opened for play in 1960. Some say that the course is a tale of two 9s. The front is a bit boring, and you'll feel like a couple of holes were "forced" to fit into the course. However the back 9 is lovely and really nestled into an nature, the marshland and forest means lots of wild life.

It was early in the season and there was one green that was closed but the course was surprisingly in overall good shape. Although not empty on a beautiful early spring day, the pace was comfortable without any back ups. There are a few basic holes, but most offer either an interesting challenge or spectacular beauty for a public course. The facilities are not fancy but the ambience is pleasant and the Turkey sandwich at the turn surprisingly good. Summary: Not a lush resort course but a very comfortable and pleasant course with challenge for an average golfer. I will return.
