Coal Creek Golf Course first opened for play in 1989. The course was designed by Richard M. Phelps.
Coal Creek Golf Course provides a challenging round with breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains. The front nine is a links style layout with mature trees lining the fairways and water coming into play on all but two holes. The back nine has several elevation changes with several sand traps to challenge every shot. The rolling, generous fairways are a mix of open and tree lined, and the large greens are undulating and quick. Coal Creek's layout makes some dramatic elevaion changes, offering spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. Coal Creek plays from 5,185 to 7,028-yards, and offers four sets of tees, golfers of every ability can enjoy the course

Since reopening after the flood damage in 2013, numerous upgrades in layout, tee boxes, and greens are very noticeable. The fairways are more open, new fairway bunkers actually save previously lost balls, and the staff seems to have a more helpful and positive attitude. So thankful it's my "home" course!
