Bennett Valley Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Santa Rosa, California.
Bennett Valley Golf Course opened for play in 1970. The course was designed by Ben Harmon.
Bennett Valley Golf Course is a tree-lined municipal course just minutes from downtown is surrounded by mountains that are carpeted with oaks, redwoods, and Monterey pines. Matanzas Creek meanders through four holes, and with no houses lining the course, it's just you and your game, which is aided mightily by wonderful course conditions. A quartet of long par-5s are reachable. Greens were enlarged and upgraded and bunkers were added a couple of years ago, and a new clubhouse and pro shop opened in late summer 2007. Meanwhile, players at this gateway to the Wine Country continue to enjoy one of the very best values in the golf world.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,548 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,788 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 514 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 169 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 11, a 444 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Bennett Valley is # 4, a 175 yard par-3.

Very affordable, scenic, parkland course. Variety of hole design, fast and undulating greens. Very walkable, only one hilly section of any note. Munching deer abound. Great golf for anyone visiting the wine country of Sonoma County.

Bennett Valley is a well kept muni. It has a very interesting and uniquley designed front 9, and the back nine is less so with most of the holes flat, straight and long. For as much as it's played, every time I've played it, the greens and fairways have been in great shape. It's a great price, especially for a senior walking local.

All greens have been seriously upgraded...multi-tiered...large traps...layout of greens competes with most high end expensive courses...course is continuously being improved...sanding program in process to make it more playable all year long

Best bargain for the quality of the course. Moderately tight (if you're not hitting it straight, then you are chipping back into the fairway a lot!) with the best greens in the area - public or private - particularly considering the amount of play it gets. One of my favorites!

I wouldn't plan a vacation just to play BV. This is a vacation/tourist area anyway, so if you can work in a round, it's a nice course. Some soggy fairways in winter, but great greens all year. Sometimes a bit difficult to get out as a walk on (singles easier). At times, it can be slow on weekends, following a men's club skins games for ex., or similar events. It's a muni, so you get a few groups occasionally that aren't necessarily regular golfers. I've played it numerous times and will continue to play there.

This is a municipal golf course that is an incredible value. They charged me for 9 holes($12) but I got in 18. Pace of play can be an issue here because they get 100,000 rounds a year! But the conditioning is fabulous. The fairways are tree lined and the greens are undulating and well bunkered. A good test of golf. The clubhouse is new and has very good food.

Incredible course for the amount of play it gets. Prices are extremely low for the quality of the course. I have paid well over $100 to play courses that are not as nice or challenging. Tight tree lined fairways make straight shots mandatory or find yourself chipping back out to fairway. Big undulating greens allow for a wide variety of pin placements and can toughen up the course significantly. New club house and pro shop are excellent with beautiful views back over the course.
