Detailed description

Peacock Gap Country Club is a Semi-Private 18 hole golf course located in San Rafael, California.

The course opened for play in 1961. The course was designed by William Bell and was later renovated by Forrest Richardson.

Peacock Gap Golf Club extends along the shores of San Pablo Bay, but it sits inland enough to avoid the fogginess of the coast and enjoy consistently sunny weather throughout the year. The course's layout has undergone many renovations over the years that have brought it to its current playability. The golf course kept the classic features of its original layout, such as the inviting fairways that still provide a challenge and the tricky greens that deceptively extend past where the player thinks they end. The Peacock Gap Golf Course is predominantly flat with water on 12 holes and a creek running through the layout.

In addition to the course, Peacock Gap has also improved their practice facilities over the years. There is an all-grass driving range, two large practice greens, and a chipping green.

Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6354 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5629 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 12, a par-5 that plays to 543 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 10, a par-3 that plays to 137 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 5, a 426-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Peacock Gap is # 10, the 137 yard par-3.
