Detailed description

Delta View Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Pittsburg, California.

Pittsburg's Delta View Golf Course first opened for play in 1930 as a 9 hole course. The course was designed by Alister Mackenzie. Today this original 9 holes is the back nine. In 1991, the course added a front nine making the entire layout a par-71 course. The front nine was designed by Robert Muir Graves. Play this course and you can experience the work of two different golf designers.

The 18 hole championship course tucked in the foothills of Pittsburg. The 6,317-yard course consists of rolling hills, mature eucalyptus trees lining the fairways, and spectacular Delta views with Mt. Diablo in the background. The design climaxes with difficult closing holes, including #16, a 398-yard, par 4, requiring an exact, downhill tee shot to a very narrow fairway between trees. The greens were very small on the original holes, but have been enlarged for practical reasons. The course is very hilly and can be a nightmare for slicers because all of the trouble is on the right.

The Delta View Golf Course facility also has a grass driving range on site.

Blue tees; 6,317 yards, course rating 71.3, slope rating 133.

White tees: 5,758 yards, course rating 68.3, slope rating 125.

Red tees: 5258 yards.

The course closed on March 1, 2018

According to the East Bay Times, the reasoning behind the closure of the Alister MacKenzie-designed golf course in Pittsburg, Calif., is unclear, though some members speculated that potential for drought played a role. The city owns the 6,317-yard golf course and is exploring its options.
