Detailed description

Claremont Country Club is a Private , 18 hole golf course located in Oakland , California

Claremont Country Club first opened for play in 1904. The course was designed by Jim Smith. Alister MacKenzie (1920), Robert Muir Graves (1987), and Brad Benz and Mike Poellot (1989) have done redesigns on this course.

The greens are fast and sloping, and there are many bunkers spread throughout the course. The fairways are narrow and tree lined so you must be accurate. The 1937 Oakland Open was played here and was won by Sam Snead.
