I grew up playing this course with my Dad and have always had great memories of my visits. OMG! I just came back from what is now the "Newport Beach Golf Course" and had these two old men in the starter office give me the hardest time for needing to cancel the round my son and I had planned. The man with the band aid on his nose actually went out of his way to make fun of me, ridicule me, and make a huge dramatic scene about my request. I have never seen such a hateful person at a golf course. I can understand if someone is having a bad day, but he intentionally wanted to make me feel as small and embarrassed as he possibly could. Well, I am not embarrassed for what was a reasonable request. However, I will never return to what is now the "Newport Beach Golf Course". What a nasty atmosphere. I will keep my fond memories of what it used to be. My recommendation to anyone thinking of golfing here is to go to any of the neighboring courses that actually enjoy golf and enjoy creating a relaxing atmosphere for their guests. This place stinks.

At one time this course was worth the money at around $20 for a saturday morning. The fairways and greens were well kept. Teeing up on mats is OK but not the best. The three daytime teeing areas are a joke. The fairways are mostly hardpan and large clumps grass. For my money David L. Baker with a slower pace of play but better course conditions is a better deal for a short course.

Nice course for your short game. Not too formal.

This is a perfect practice course for the novice golfer. Great price, forgiving course, nice pace.

This course is a great executive course because of the terrain, and it also has a number of interesting holes. It's hilly, especially on the back nine, so it's a great workout 'cause you have to walk. I play other courses in the Newport Beach area and, as a "senior" golfer, I plan to play this course 2-3 times a month, not for the challenge but for the exercise

If the owners would put some money back into this course it could be quite a bit better. It's lighted for night play, but it's my understanding that all the lights on the course have not worked for the last five years and for long periods, most of the lights haven't worked at all. Course maintenance is very poor.
